Artie Wilson, Seattle Rainiers Spring Training, 1952. Wilson and Bob Boyd were the first African American players to play baseball professionally for Seattle. In 1952. they battled all year for the PCL batting crown, with Boyd edging out Wilson, .320 to .316. Wilson was the last player to hit .400 in the Negro Leagues.
