Description

The next meeting of the Northwest Chapter of SABR will take place from noon until 5 p.m. at the Seminar Room of the main library at Seattle Pacific University in Seattle. Unfortunately our featured outside speaker, Mel Stottlemyre, had to cancel. We will still feature some excellent presentations by Chapter members. The meeting is open to the public and we invite anyone interested in SABR and baseball to attend.

Our agenda is as follows:

Noon: Introductions

12:20 American League Pennant Race in 1964 by Tim Herlich

1 pm Baseball: Corporate America's Best Example of Business Intelligence by Melissa Booker

1:30 Break

1:40 The Spread of Baseball in the Pacific Northwest 1866-1890 by Mark Brunke

2:30 Matthew Fox & the Move West by the Giants and Dodgers by Robert Garratt

3:15 Break

3:30 Who Really Belongs in the Baseball Hall of Fame by Mike Rice

4:15 Results of the NWSABR Seattle Mariners Poll by John Henshell

5 pm Adjourn & reconvene at a local tavern for food drink & more discussions about the National Pastime

We’ll have another book exchange. You can bring books to donate and take the contributions of others. Suggested donation to the chapter for books is $2 for hardcover books and $1 for paperbacks.
