The UK Chapter of SABR, the Society for American Baseball Research, largely devotes itself to researching the history of baseball in Britain. It's a rich and fascinating history that's yet to be fully uncovered, though our members have succeeding in unearthing some fascinating facts about the development of the sport in this country, and also about the origins of the game itself.
Of course, we also concern ourselves with all sorts of other baseball-related topics. Members of the UK chapter of SABR, scattered all over the country, have a wide variety of interests, from researching the history of the game to the study of its statistics and most things in between. In other words, if it has to do with baseball, we'll be interested.
On this website, you'll find a large collection of articles from our house publication, the SABR UK Examiner, including five new pieces from issue 13; a couple of potted histories (one on Early Bat and Ball Games, the other on baseball in Britain), and a hand-picked collection of baseball links.
