NWSABR Member Mark Armour wins 2008 Bob Davids Award
Written by Jeff Bower

For those of you who didn't attend the Convention in Cleveland, I thought I should pass along some exciting news – NWSABR's own Mark Armour was presented with the 2008 Bob Davids Award. The Bob Davids Award is SABR's highest honor, and is awarded to only one member each year.

Here is what the main SABR website says about the Davids Award: "The Bob Davids Award honors SABR members whose contributions to SABR and baseball reflect the ingenuity, integrity, and self-sacrifice of the founder and past president of SABR, L. Robert "Bob" Davids. Voluntary activities in the area of administration and research are among those contributions considered. SABR's highest honor, the Bob Davids Award was established by the Board of Directors in 1985, and is awarded each year at the annual convention."

I expect that within the next day or two, a formal announcement will be posted at the main SABR webpage.

Please join me in congratulating Mark on his well-deserved winning of this prestigious award.
