Welcome!

The Society for American Baseball Research (sabr.org) was established in Cooperstown, New York, in 1971. Our mission is to foster the study of baseball past and present, and to provide an outlet for educational, historical and research information about the game. While the emphasis is on baseball research, SABR is not just about numbers. It’s about enjoying the sport, sharing information and being with likeminded individuals who have a passion for baseball at every level.

The Northwest Chapter of SABR (NWSABR) was founded in 1981. Our approximately 250 members reside primarily in the states of Washington and Oregon and the province of British Columbia. We convene regularly to listen to other members’ baseball research presentations, hear from featured guest speakers, meet new people and exchange ideas about the game we love.

We encourage you to learn more about SABR and the Northwest chapter. Please browse through our web site, and come to one of our meetings. The date and location of future meetings are posted on the right – you do not have to be a member to attend.

If you have any questions or requests, please feel free to contact any of the chapter officers. Hopefully, you, too, will cultivate your knowledge and enjoyment of our national pastime by becoming a SABR member.
