Dear Friends and Fans,
NOTE NEW TIME: 11 am
Please join us for our annual visit to "The Art of Baseball" at the George Krevsky Gallery on Saturday, pril 20, 2013 at 11am. The gallery is at 77 Geary St., in San Francisco. Very convenient to the Montgomery Street BART station.
We will tour the exhibit and enjoy the stories about the art projects. Our own Ed Attansio will be on hand to talk about his current project in the show.
After the art show, we'll walk up to Lefty O'Douls for lunch and a chapter meeting. We will be joined by Paul Hirsch, who has news of a new book featuring the 1973 Oakland A's and Mike Leury, talking about his book Baseball Between Us, which chronicles roadtrips with his son to visit all the MLB ballparks. He was a speaker at a recent Sacramento SABR meeting.
This meeting will also be a celebration of our chapter's 30th anniversary ( that's the good news) as well as an our fond farewell to Paul Hirsch, who is moving to Southern California. Paul has long been involved with the chapter, serving as our leader for many years, now serving as a SABR Director. We honored Paul at our SABR Day meeting in January, this is another chance to give him a fond send-off.
If you haven't yet been to Lefty O'Douls Restaurant, you are in for a treat. Not only will you enjoy delicious hofbrau food, but the walls are covered with baseball memorabilia.
Thanks again to George Krevsky for hosting us at the gallery. Lunch is on you. No charge for the meeting.
Please rsvp directly to me so I can get a count of how many folks are attending. mvogelsang@sbcglobal.net
