36^th Annual Meeting of the Bob Davids Chapter • The first chapter of the Society 

Football is fine, especially if your team is winning, but we’ve got what you’re craving:  Baseball!  We’ve got it for you in delicious doses at the annual meeting of the Bob Davids Chapter, the 36^th of its kind.

When:       Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 from 9:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. 

Who:         Meeting chair Barry Sparks and program chair David Vincent have prepared a very entertaining baseball day: 

• Dan Connolly – national baseball writer for the Baltimore Sun 
• Chuck Hilty and Richie Goldstein – “Baseball in Cuba; A Firsthand Account”  
• Dave Smith– Entertaining research question asked in 2008;  A half dozen research presentations by members, representing the essence of SABR.

In addition, we will have for you:

• Baseball trivia – Not impossible, but no intentional bases-on-balls-                
• Regional baseball authors – With their works available-                
• Camaraderie – Mingle with SABR friends.  Make new ones.-                
• Vendors of baseball books and related material-                
• Raffle, where you could go home with treasures of considerable valuewhile simultaneously helping to raise funds for the chapter

The Sheraton Columbia Hotel is easy to find and located, 20 miles from downtown Baltimore and 25 miles from downtown Washington, DC.  It’s across from the Mall in Columbia and there is plenty of free, covered parking. 

How much:    $28 for SABR members and visitors.  Cost includes an Italian lunch buffet featuring chicken parmesan, penne pasta primavera, Caesar salad, vegetables and desserts.
