BY-LAWS OF THE BOB DAVIDS CHAPTER
OF THE
SOCIETY FOR AMERICAN BASEBALL RESEARCH
CHAPTER
Name
This organization is called the Bob Davids Chapter of the Society for American Baseball Research, named for L. Robert Davids, founder of the Society.
By-Laws
These By-Laws are a supplement to and subordinate to the Constitution and By-Laws of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR). In any conflict with provisions herein, the Constitution and By-Laws of SABR will prevail.
Geographic Boundaries
The Bob Davids Chapter oversees the activities of SABR members in an area encompassing the District of Columbia, the states of Maryland and Virginia and south central Pennsylvania, eastern West Virginia and southern Delaware. A more precise definition of the chapter’s ambit is held by SABR and is defined by specific ZIP codes.
ORGANIZATION
Board of Directors
The chapter’s activities are governed by a Board of Directors consisting of seven people, elected by the chapter membership at the annual chapter meeting. Chapter members elect to the Board three members in odd-numbered years and four members in even-numbered years. Board members' terms are for two year periods. The Board will meet at least once a year. Membership in SABR is required to serve on the Bob Davids Chapter Board. Board members are elected by a plurality for the names offices and the top three vote recipients are the at large Board members.

The chapter’s administrative officers will be

- Three Board members at large
All officers are members of the Board and stand for office as outlined above. Officers are elected individually and automatically occupy a board position thereby.
Duties
The President presides at Chapter meetings and Board meetings. The Vice-President presides in the President’s absence. The Secretary keeps minutes of Chapter and Board meetings. The Treasurer reports the Chapter’s finances to the Board.
Election
Nominations are accepted by the Chapter Secretary between 60 and 10 days before the annual meeting and will be made known to the membership by the Board.
POLICIES
Policies and Procedures
Policies and Procedures of the Chapter are established by the Board. All actions taken by the Board must have a simple majority of Board members present.
Amending the By-Laws
These By-Laws may be amended by a majority vote of the Board if also so voted by a majority of members present at the next annual meeting.
MEETINGS
Annual Meeting
The chapter’s annual meeting is held on the Saturday prior to the weekend of the NFL’s Super Bowl.
Additional Meetings
The chapter may hold additional meetings during the year, consistent with the mission of SABR.
FINANCES
The President and the Treasurer each have the authority to disperse Chapter funds except that one-time amounts exceeding $100.00 are subject to approval by the Board.
